KATOVIA / PLAY
PIXEL PIANO
Touch and hear colors. Make a tiny melody with pentatonic notes and pixel ripples.
Use mouse, touch or keyboard.
Pixel Piano turns each touch into a colorful shape and a browser-generated note. Horizontal position chooses the pitch. A pentatonic scale makes it easy to explore harmonious melodies without knowing music theory. Drag with a mouse, use several fingers on your phone, or play the keyboard notes in sequence. Mute the sound to explore just the visuals. There are no prerecorded music files: all tones are synthesized with Web Audio. Audio and animation stop when you leave the tab.
